Longest Ever Post I think For the New Year (2011)

Hey All,
First this is a very very very very long time since I post, but I was really busy and still busy but now less busy than before.
The reason I was away was due to army first I was away for 50 days in my training camp then when I returned I go everyday from 5:00 am and return home at 6:00 pm working for army so I reach home tired and go for sleep directly or see a movie and sleep.
No big deals and what make it worse for me that I am have collegue post graduate studies and I was having exams and I didnt study well because of the army.

I am Bad :D

Hey all,
I know that it has been long time since my last post here :S, which is really sucks I should return posting frequently here again.

First of all Mountainer have been finished (from coding point of view) using FlashPunk and now its over FGL getting feedback and waiting for new graphics made by Tomy (Artist of Hello World! project).

Hey all,

Long Long Long Time, I know that but I was too busy working on Hello World! as besides its MMORPG game I want to make its my graduation project in college and my delivery date was last Monday 26/7/2010 and I want to deliver a stable bug free version but this version was containing minimal features but stable at same time.

The main supported features in this version was moving, wearing equipments, pick items from ground, throwing items, melee attacking, ranged attacking, leveling up and assigning attribute points.

Huge Chunk of News

Hi All,

I am totally sorry for long not updating the Blog but I was so busy and I had lots of work and exams till now I am too busy but I managed to sneak with some little time to write a large and nice blog πŸ™‚

First news if anyone noticed that PaceMaker FP changed from InDev to Complete Games and now waiting for Sponsorshipping.

Since I have evolved in the community of FGL to Level2 so they gave me 5 First Impression to use I was pretty confident from my game from developper feedback (take a look) here are some of the feedback:

Longer than expected :)

Hey all,
Sorry for not updating lately but I was having a very large exam MI exam (Machine Intellegence) I dont think I solved good at all in the exam πŸ™‚ it was so hard for a human being to solve and remember around 500 pages in only 7 days πŸ˜€

Forget about this painfull experince I passed through it πŸ™‚ Now lets take alook about everything indie πŸ™‚

About my Game Projects Hello World! and Pace Maker FP no new as I was studing hard the last week πŸ™‚ but about two old games Ninjaki and Night Guard I moved them to an Abandon games section πŸ™‚ and may I will release their source code if anyone interested but I dont think it is nice as I am always work unarranged and with no plans πŸ™‚

FlashPunk Start :)

Hey All,
Last thursday(not yesterday the one before) I have finished my midterm exam so I and my graduation project team (Hello World! Team) decided to take thursday and friday off.

And today we are going to continue working on faculty projects so last friday I decided to start coding in FlashPunk so I followed the first tutorial and see a small example made by chevy ray (The one who made FlashPunk library).

I made a simple game based on that tutorial just a rocket moving in space where it is directed with the mouse and move with up arrow and when releasing it stops due to friction also there is some random enemies generated with simple AI just search and follow player if the player exists in his range of sight and try to follow the player
Also the player can fire using left mouse button.

:S Bad News :S

Hey All,
First I am totally sorry that I didnt post anything for long time but I started exams on past sunday and I had an exam yesterday and the days before I had to study hard πŸ™‚

Till now I didnt start AS3 with FlashPunk hopefully I can start it soon also the progress in Night Guard has been stopped since I started studying for the exam (means two weeks ago :S) which is along time πŸ˜€


For the assemblee compo πŸ™‚ it has come to an end and there are 73 entries that you can view them all here πŸ™‚ there are some desecent games there πŸ™‚ its so nice πŸ™‚ and also the voting for best games is open and here is the link for the voting πŸ™‚

Hey All,
The next couple of days may suffer from lack of updates due to my exams πŸ™‚ as I just going to start at next sunday πŸ™‚

But there are some awesome news that I dont want to miss and dont tell you about it πŸ™‚


First piece of news is about VVVVVV game that awesome game has been released by time πŸ™‚ I tried the demo its freakin awesome πŸ™‚ you must pick a full copy fast πŸ™‚ here is a link where you can grab a full copy for 15$ (I think because the website only shows how much it cost in egyptian pounds due to I am from Egypt :)) or try the demo πŸ™‚ but really freakin awesome πŸ™‚

Hurrah for Bactoriam and Mailure :)

Hey all,
Today I found a very nice news about both games Bactoriam and Mailure.
They are featured in video of 100 GameMaker Games in 10 min for 2009 games.

Also There are lots of cool videos for the game of the year and one of the best shows I love to see is the ByteJacker show and yesterday show was awesome it contain top 10 indiegames in 2009 see that video its nice πŸ™‚


Another amazing news VVVVVV game will be released on 10 Jan this year with price of 15$ πŸ™‚ It deserve it and you must go and pick it πŸ™‚ there will be a demo to try πŸ™‚

YoYoGames Compos returns again

Hey All,

A very delightful news I just saw YoYoGames have started new Compo for the new year.
The theme of the compo is to make a game for handheld device using GM7 or GM8
Compo Rules (Copied from YoYoGlog)

  1. Your Game must be less than 10MB (uncompressed)EXE only…NO ZIP files.
  2. Maximum Screen Size 480X272
  3. No DLLs or other extension packages can be used.
  4. No Installation packages.
  5. No use of the registry.
  6. Game Controls must use cursor keys and space-bar only, escape to quit
  7. Game Maker versions 7 or 8 only
  8. All games must be tagged β€œCompetition” and β€œ05β€³
  9. Contest finishes March 30th 2010 at Midnight GMT

I will particpate in the compo with a new game (the game idea was developed for RoboSquid Contest but I didn’t start on it at all as I was too busy)

Yesterday I started making a platform engine so as to use it in my future games where this game will be one of them and AlexitrΓ³n (The designer of lots of amazing games such as The Power) told me that he will help me in level designing as I am horrible at it. (I am so happy when I knew that Alex will help me πŸ™‚ )
